I am starting out with a couple of pictures that happened just after midnight. I have been staying up later since getting here and not having reasons to get up early. Our suite/villa created a small outdoor room, rock on two sides and the building on two sides. There was a door from the bedroom out into it and half the wall facing the area was glass in the living room. There was a color changing light that shown onto one of the rock walls. I am putting just two of the pictures of it at around midnight when the light was on. I never figured the whys and hows of when it worked and when it was off.
I just sat and watch the colors cycle some
This was my favorite one
Here is the area this morning. It is just a secret little space
This is the only vegetation in this rock room area
We enjoyed some time this morning on our patio
The view from the bedroom and living room window this morning.
I got this shot while I was enjoying the view from our patio
When we went to breakfast they had baskets of fresh picked lemons from their orchard. I bet they will be juiced for lemonade
These are the ornaments on the Christmas tree they had set up by the door separating the bar area from the dining room
This is a pictures of the bar seating then through those white wrought iron dividers is the restaurant
Last time down the stairs from our lovely villa to the main building as we were leaving to check out. I really did not want to go
The next several pictures were taken though the car window as we drove to Naples where we were to catch the train to Rome Central, then on to the airport. This is my last view of Amalfi
One of the round towers that are along the coast road we had to go on to meet up with the road that would take us through the mountain/hills to Naples.
Coming into the next down down from Amalfi
Vineyards were small and used much of the hill side as we drove. Olive trees were also in abundance
As we started to wind between hills and the sea, the terrain remained rigged and spectacular
I was able to spot this waterfall tripping it’s way down the hill
Though mostly green and lush, some plants showed signs of fall colors
Behind those green nets are grapes and scattered through the hills olive trees appeared
The cities clung to the steep grade and marched up towards the sky
We went through many tunnels as we wove in and out of hills and valleys
Our last glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea as we turned to cross the neck of land north to get to Naples
The roads were twisty, turning back on themselves a lot as we made our way up and though this area.
Coming into greater Naples
Then we were dropped off at the main train station. After a bit of learning the train ticket machines, we were seated for the trip to Rome airport
The windows were quite dirty, so these last two photos are a bit unclear. This is leaving the train station in Naples
And some of the scenery out in the country between Naples and Rome.
We made it to the airport and took the long walkway to our hotel for the night. We are staying at a hotel connected to the airport as we have a 10:30 am flight tomorrow morning and wanted to be close to check out luggage, get our boarding passes, and leave plenty of time to get through security.
As tomorrow is another travel day as we leave Italy for Greece, we will see what if any blog I do.
Until next blog, May you be blessed.
