Well today we moved from our Marriott hotel in Athens to our floating hotel in Piraeus, which is the port town just outside of Athens
We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel before checking out and grabbing a cab to get to the ship.
The hotel had a lovely outdoor seating area you could use for breakfast with this large fountain in the center,
I loved the flowers along the speedway part of our drive to the ship
We also passed by the Olympic stadium from when Athens last had the summer games. It is now a soccer stadium, but has Olympics on it too.
Checking in to the ship was not too bad. We must have beat the bus loads coming in from the hotels Viking put people at last night. Marriott was one of them and it was a crazy mad house when we were checking out.
Since the rooms would not be ready for another hour, we headed up to the buffet for lunch
As usual there was tons of choices and food
We then got our room and started unpacking.
It was quickly done. There was plenty of space to put things.
Then we haul all our dirty clothes down to the laundry room before it got crowded. After we had the wet clothes in the dryers, we head to explore and familiarize ourselves with this ship.
They have a very nice spa that I hope to enjoy several times while we are here
This is the winter garden where they will be doing teas each day
This is a bit of a strange angle, but it is the three story atrium
The pool area
The explores lounge
They have ping pong, lawn bowling,
Mini golf and shuffle board on the sports deck
There is a second pool on the back of the ship which is an infinity pool and hot tub.
After getting our clothes from the dryers and putting them away, we relaxed on our balcony until we headed to their Italian specialty dinner room for our dinner.
Afterwards we listened to piano music in the Atrium until we headed to the theatre at 9pm to see the program there. Tonight it was the music of Greece.
Hope today went well for you all.
